We've
named our lodge Elsa's Kopje - for Elsa, the orphaned lioness reared
by George and Joy Adamson and returned to the wild in Meru and for
the rocky outcrop it sits on. This park is singular in Kenya for
being the driest - with little rainfall and at the same time resplendent
with thirteen rivers and numerous streams running off the nearby
mountains. The result is a striped landscape with lush green ribbons
running through dry brown valleys. From your private cottage, 5
placed well away from your neighbour, you'll enjoy a 270° view of
the surrounding park with its scattered kopjes and delightful baobab
trees. We've designed the open plan rooms individually, incorporating
the rocks into the structure. Time spent at Elsa's Kopje is certain
to be a unique component of your visit to Kenya.
