itinerary

Day 1

We will collect you from your hotel or the International airport and transfer you to the domestic , Wilson airport for your 07.30am flight [ subject to schedule changes]. You will be brought to the airport at least 45mins prior to the flight. Board your flight to Amboseli – flying time approx 35 mins:

Upon arrival you will be received and transferred from the airstrip to your overnight Lodge by the Lodge’s Driver guide in a 4x4 safari vehicle.

Amboseli Serena Lodge is an acclaimed, luxury property which offers beautiful views of the surrounding Amboseli park. You will likely also be able to see Africa’s highest mountain – Kilimanjaro, from the lodge, provided the sky is clear. Kilimanjaro , for all its beauty, has a ‘shy’ peak, often remaining shrouded in cloud cover – Dawn and Dust are often great times to see the peak.

Enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure before proceed for the delicious buffet lunch. After a short time for some ‘siesta’, get ready for your first African Safari game drive, at approx 3.30pm during which you explore the surrounding parts of the park and see its amazing wildlife. (The safari vehicle may carry other guests from the lodge).

Return to the lodge by evening [ typically 6 to 6.30pm], in time for dinner.

Overnight stay at Amboseli Serena Lodge:

Day 2

Today you have an early rise for your estimated 6.15am Safari game drive during which you will see more of the Amboseli’s great wildlife. Early morning, and late afternoon are considered the best times to spot animals at their most active.

Amboseli is especially known for its prolific Elephant population. In fact the park is a research base for an Elephant project [ not open to visitors] and helps us understand these highly perceptive and what we’d call ‘’sixth sense intelligent’’ animals.

Return to the Lodge for a relaxed breakfast – rest of the morning at leisure. The lodge has a swimming pool but also offers a variety of add-on activities, such as nature walks.

After the sumptuous lunch, enjoy another mid afternoon safari game drive to further explore the park and its eco system. Return to the Lodge by evening [ typically 6 to 6.30pm] in time for a relaxed evening which may be enlivened by entertainment provided by the lodge, followed by dinner.

Day 3

Today you have an early breakfast and check out from the lodge by 7.15am for a short transfer to the nearby airstrip. Board your 08.10am flight back to Nairobi [ 45 mins flying time]. Upon arrival at Wilson, you board your onward flight to Samburu Reserve, arriving here by 10.30am.

Upon arrival you will be received and transferred from the airstrip to your overnight Lodge by the Lodge’s Driver guide in a 4x4 safari vehicle.

Samburu, apart from its distinct appearance, semi-arid yet very beautiful, almost Classic Africa in a sense, is famous for a few of its species found only in this area – such as the Grevy’s Zebra, which differs in physical features from its cousin the Grants Zebra. Likewise you might want to look out for the Reticulated Giraffe with its unique pattern, differing from the Rothschild Giraffe commonly found in the rest of East Africa.

After lunch at the Samburu Game Lodge, right by the Ewaso Nyiro river, you will enjoy some time at rest, perhaps for an afternoon siesta, after which you will be taken for your first Samburu Safari, exploring the reserve and spotting the rich wildlife.

Return to the lodge come evening, typically by 6.30pm. Dinner follows:
