Kisumu City

Kisumu, Kenya's third largest city, was founded on the lucrative lake shipping business funneling goods between the three East African countries ( Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania).

By the early 90's the railway line from Mombasa had been stretched out as far as the lake. Kisumu is a natural base excellently located for exploring the western side of the country and boasts of a number of good quality hotels in addition to the sceneic Lake Victoria which is Africas Largest Lake.
There are a host of interesting activities to do such as visiting the Kisumu Museum, fishing, boat rides, visiting the hippo point and the Luo fishing village.
