Simba was concieved, not just as an overnight stop but as a safari resort, as
the ultimate lodge in Masai Mara. The emphasis is on exclusivity and comfort,
the ambiance is Maasai, the decor incorporating ethnic design elements from the
culture of the proud tribe in which the realm of the lodge is set. A stay at the
Mara Simba Lodge offers the African Safari Experience at its best. The first-class
service is matched by the excellent cuisine in the open-plan dining area, while
the free-form swimming pool can give welcome respite from the daytime heat. The
Mara Simba is the only lodge in Kenya to have installed a Waste Water Treatment
Plant.

This treats all the sewage to produce the crystal clear water used for irrigation.
The eighty four twin, double or tripple bedded rooms, each ensuite with private
verandas overlooking the river, provide all the comfort one needs to relax after
an exiting day's safari. The evenings at Mara Simba offer informal entertainment
around the open fire-place in a well-stocked bar area: lectures and slide shows
on the local wildlife, a show of tribal dancing or a live performance of local
songs.
The Mara Simba lodge sits overlooking a dramatic bend on the bank of the Talek, a tributary of the Mara River, gently blending into the surrounding wilderness. Stretching almost a kilometer along the river the grounds on the bank remain in their virgin condition, while the landscaped gardens filled with indigenous trees at the back draw a great variety of birds and butterflies. The lodge was conceived with an emphasis on exclusivity and comfort. It was designed to complement its surroundings and is decorated in Maasai traditional style. Wide, well-lit pathways connect the Public areas and rooms
