Takawiri Island Resort - Lake VictoriaTakawiri Island Resort is situated in the Takawiri Island which is one of the most unspoilt islands on Lake Victoria, which is not only the source of the river Nile but also te second larest fresh water lake in the world. The resort is set next to white sandy beaches that stretch into unspoilt natural landscape, a haven for hippo and a vast array of birdlife. The resort offers a host of activities such as snorkeling, swimming, windsurfing and sailing. The luxury chalet - style accomodation offers comfort and privacy for our select clintel. All rooms are solar - powered hot water in private bathrooms. Large "bandas" house the recreational area, bar and restaurant where sumptuous meals are served with breathtaking lake views. Facing west, you can enjoy your tropical sundowner with a magnificent view of the pink and gold tints of a Lake Victoria sunset as fish eagles and Egyptian geese fly home to roost.
