Nestled on a headland, amongst lush tropical gardens, The Shooting Star Lodge overlooks the beautiful fine white sands and coconut palms of Kiwengwa beach.
The atmosphere is intimate and tranquil with spectacular views across
a coral reef to the azure Indian Ocean beyond.
The small makuti-roofed lodge is nestled in lovely well-tended gardens alive with birdsongs. It only has 14 rooms, located a short distance from the lodge,
so one will never feel crowded. Its cliff-top setting means the ocean views
are superb and all-encompassing.

The hotel's accomodation is built to a high standard in traditional Zanzibari style with white limewashed walls, high beamed ceilings and large windows. The Sea view cottages all contain beautifully hand-carved wooden Zanzibari beds draped
with tailored mosquito net canopies.
Cottages are air-conditioned and are also equipped with electric fans to complement Kiwengwa's cool sea breezes. Accommodation is on a full, half board or bed & breakfast basis depending on your preference.
The open-air restaurant has outstanding views of the ocean and serves excellent fare. It specialises in lobster, meat grills and smoked fish using traditional African recipes, but also serves international dishes.
The menu changes daily.
The bar, a good place to socialise after you've been lazing about in the sun, offers a good variety of wine, beer and soft drinks. The seating
areas have been attractively decorated with colourful cushions.
