The Safari Tour Van or Safari Microbus is a popular choice for safaris in Tanzania, preferred for its carrying capacity of upto 7 passengers and lower costs compared to the Landcruiser Safari vehicle ( see below). The Safari Microbus is either a Nissan or Toyota vehicle and comes fitted with a large pop up game viewing roof, UHF radio call, heavy duty suspension and also has large side windows for enhanced all round visibility. This vehicle is only available with a Driver-Guide. ( Self Drive is not available).
Price 2020 ~ 2021: US$ 175 per day including a Professional English-speaking Driver~Guide, all his allowances, Fuel for unlimited mileage based on typical Safari Itinerary [daylight hours only] and Taxes. This is a SPECIAL OFFER price valid only for hire period of minimum 3 days. For 1 or 2 day hire, the rate is USD 185 per day. The 4 x 4 Toyota Landcruiser Safari vehicle is one of Tanzania's best options for a Safari and the most popular infact, offering improved comfort and better versatility than tour vans and allowing tourists to access parks such as Serengeti, Tarangire & Ngorongoro which have challenging road conditions or as is the case nowadays, may only allow 4by4 vehicles within their wildlife areas. This vehicle comes fitted with UHF Radio Call, game viewing hatches and additonal safari customization such as cooler boxes to carry drinks. This 4wd vehicle is not available for rental on self drive and the rate includes the provision of a qualified, expert Driver-Guide.
Special rates are available for hire duration exceeding 1 week.
