itinerary

Day 1

You will be received at the Jomo Kenyatta Internation Airport by our Driver-Guide and our Tour Rep. Onward transfer to your hotel in Nairobi for an overnight stay in preparation for the start of the Safari, next morning. Overnight at the 5 star Nairobi Serena Hotel or equivalent.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, your Driver-guide will collect you from the hotel at 07.30 am for onward transfer to the domestic , Wilson airport, for your 9.30 am flight to Masai Mara – flying time approx 1 hour.

Upon arrival in Masai Mara, you will be received and transferred from the airstrip to your overnight Tented Camp by the camp’s Driver-guide in a 4x4 safari vehicle.

Your overnight camp is an exclusive, boutique-sized luxury property which offers beautiful views of the Mara reserve.

Proceed for a sumptuous lunch [ in case of a morning flight arrival] and enjoy some time at leisure as you take in your surreal surroundings. Thereafter, late afternoon, typically around 3.30pm, embark on your very first Safari game drive during which you explore the surrounding parts of the Mara and see its amazing wildlife.

Return to the lodge by evening [ typically 6 to 6.30 pm] in time for dinner.

Overnight stay at Mara Explorer Camp – Masai Mara:

Day 3

Begin your morning with a spectacular Hot Air Balloon flight at the break of dawn – ‘float’ gracefully over the scenic African savannah teeming with wildlife. The balloon takes off approx 6 to 6.15am, which means you will be collected from your camp by around 5.30am – yes, an early start but its so worth it ! The one hour flight ends with a ‘Champagne Breakfast in the Bush’’, at your landing site.

Return to the Camp for the rest of the morning at leisure – or you could choose to enjoy a mid morning game drive of you so wish. There is a swimming pool at this camp’s sister property nearby and they will take you there upon request. After the sumptuous lunch, take a mid afternoon safari game drive to further explore the reserve. Return to the camp by evening [ typically 6pm] in time for a relaxed evening which may be enlivened by entertainment provided by the lodge, followed by dinner.

Overnight stay at Mara Explorer Camp – Masai Mara:

Day 4

Full day in Masai Mara. Enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast. Most animals are active at this time of the day and you therefore are likely to see plenty of game. Return to the camp in time for a relaxed breakfast.

You may schedule a visit to a nearby Maasai Village with the Camp Manager – this, typically one hour visit provides a fascinating insight into the day to day lives of the famous Kenyan tribe, the nomadic Maasai. You also get to see their unique mud dwellings – the Manyatta hut.

Return to the camp for lunch.

Enjoy an afternoon safari into the reserve. Return to the camp by evening [ typically 6pm] in time for a relaxed evening , followed by dinner.

Overnight stay at Mara Explorer Camp – Masai Mara:

Day 5
Your fourth day in Masai Mara -with a longer stay in Mara, one can truly unwind and a Safari becomes less travelling and more relaxation. Enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast.

You may fill your day with some of the activities on offer from the camp.

Return to the camp for lunch.

Enjoy an afternoon safari into the reserve. Return to the camp by evening [ typically 6pm] in time for a relaxed evening , followed by dinner.

Overnight stay at Mara Explorer Camp – Masai Mara:

Day 6
After breakfast, our Safari now heads North West towards Lake Elementaita, a 5 hour drive on a mainly tarred road. Lake Elementaita is a scenic salt water lake, one of several Rift Valley lakes that have become wildlife eco systems and tourist attractions. The lake almost always has large flocks of pink Flamingoes at its lake shores, giving the lake a lovely tinge of pink.

Arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Elementaita Serena Camp – a luxury camp facing the lake, set in the large Soysambu Conservancy.

Rest of the afternoon is at leisure – the camp is suitable for taking a walk and enjoying the scenic natural surroundings.

Day 7

Pamper yourselves with a lie in and relaxed breakfast which you may opt to have served in bed. We have left this day completely at your leisure so that you may simply enjoy the lakeside location at this camp, rich in its natural surroundings, flora and fauna - you ofcourse have the option of booking a nature walk at the camp or simply enjoying a stroll near the lake.

In the evening you to experience the thrill of ' Night Safari' a gamedrive in the conservancy after dark– game drives at night are uniquely exciting, especially as one often gets the chance to see animals otherwise unseen during daytime safaris.

Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Overnight Lake Elementaita Serena Camp.

Day 8

Today you travel to the beautiful beaches at the Kenyan Coast. After a leisurely breakfast at the camp, you will be transferred back to Nairobi by road, an approx. 2.5 hour trip, and onwards to the airport for your short, one hour flight to Mombasa, departing Nairobi at 2pm: .

Upon arrival, we will have you transferred onward to your 5 star hotel, the Serena Beach Resport & Spa, located north, away from Mombasa city, on the dazzling white ‘Shanzu’ beach.

You now enjoy a leisurely three nights beach vacation staying at this hotel and enjoying the beautiful Indian Ocean – reef-protected and ideal for swimming. The resort is built in the style of a Swahili village, yet offering world–class standards of accommodation and activities, including a range of water sports.

Dinner and overnight at Serena Beach Resort & Spa:

Day 9

Full day at leisure – the hotel has one of the best Spas along the Kenyan coast and you may want to enjoy one of their treatments {at additional cost – book with the hotel staff}.

Day 11

Most of the morning at leisure – in the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Moi International Airport in Mombasa [ typically 45 mins transfer time], for your mid afternoon flight back to Nairobi [ flying time 1 hour].

Your flight will arrive at the International airport in Nairobi, from where you can board your onward International return flight to your onward destination.

Alternatively you may choose to extend your stay with an overnight in Nairobi as per your preference.

Flight Baggage Limit:

All domestic Kenyan flights have a 15 kgs per person except for the flight to Mombasa which allows for upto 20 kgs baggage per person.
